NEW VIDEO: 3 Uses of the Glottal Stop
New video lesson released today on a sound that most learners find very interesting: the glottal stop [ʔ].
It’s most commonly taught as an allophone of /t/ but in this new lesson, I cover two additional uses:
- Hard attack.
- Glottal reinforcement.
These are used with varying degrees of frequency in standard American and British accents, but all uses seem to be increasing in GB/SSB.
